1986: Graduation from the Jesus and Mary College, Delhi University, New Delhi, lndia with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Political Science
1997: Master of Arts Degree in Foreign Affairs and Trade which she attained from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia
PROFESSIONAL CAREER
2021 to August 2023: Director of the Africa Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation
August 2013 to March 2020: Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. Ambassador Aziz was also accredited non resident Ambassador to the Republic of Djibouti and the Republic of Yemen.
From May 2012 to July 2013: Director in the Department of Regional Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (as it was then called).
From June 2010 to May 2012: Assistant Director, Southern and East Asia Section in the Asia and Australasia Department and from July 2006 to September 2007, as Head of Section, in the Middle East Department.
As First Secretary, she was stationed at the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Kingdom of Belgium, The Kingdom of the Netherlands, The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and Mission to the European Union. She was also responsible for African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Affairs.
April 2000 to June 2006: served in Belgium and in the course of her tour of duty, was promoted to various positions until reaching the rank of First Counselor
2007 to 2010: was appointed Personal Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry. She was also appointed the first Secretary of the Workers' Council, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, a position she served from 2007 to 2008.
