Sri Lanka SRI LANKA - H.E. M.R.K. Lenagala Credentials: 21.11.2023 EDUCATION He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters of International Relations degree from the University of Colombo. He is an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka. PROFESSIONAL CAREER A career diplomat, M R K Lenagala joined Sri Lanka Foreign Service in 1998. His first overseas assignment was to the Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in New York. He has also served as Deputy High Commissioner at Sri Lanka High Commissions in London (2010) and in New Delhi (2014). At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombo he has held several positions at the Political Affairs West and the UN & Human Rights Divisions, the latter of which he headed twice as the Director General. He has also served at the Bureau of the Minister of Foreign Affairs as Personal Assistant to four consecutive Ministers of Foreign Affairs and once at the Bureau of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs.
