PROFESSIONAL CAREER
December 2020: appointed as Ambassador of Ecuador to Israel
2015-2017: Consul of Ecuador in The Hague and Deputy Representative of Ecuador to international organizations based in the Netherlands
2012-2014: Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Ecuador in Colombia
2003-2008: negotiator of Ecuador to the World Trade Organization – WTO- in Geneva, Switzerland
1995-1999: appointed to the Embassy of Ecuador in Washington D.C.
At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ecuador she served at the Environmental Directorate
(2008), as Director of Global Trade (2009-2011), Director of South America, Director of United Nations System (2017). Ambassador Muñoz was Undersecretary of Multilateral Affairs (June 2018 to November 2020).
She participated as Delegate of Ecuador to Environmental Negotiations within the United
Nations Convention of Biodiversity (UNCBD); Convention of Climate Change (UNCCC); Assembly and Board of the Charles Darwin Foundation for the Galapagos Islands.
Ambassador Muñoz also participated in Trade Negotiations in WTO Doha Round; Negotiations for Banana Market Access with the EU; Panels for Ecuadorian “fine and flavor” cocoa, UN General Assembly meetings, among others.
